I can wiggle my ears! My family is part of my core values. I love a good laugh. Coffee is my favorite. I love all things sports and I love to watch people grow, believe in themselves, and I enjoy being part of their growth and belief system.

How do you decompress after a long day?

I love my drives. I love music, breathing, spending time with my kids with intentional time and play. I love a good book and a cup of hot tea.

Favorite books or movies?

Do I dare say “chick flicks that you never know how they are going to end?” I also enjoy action and suspense!

Favorite plant?

Believe it or not! The Lotus Flower!

What are you proud of?

Aside from my family…taking a risk, making the jump, relying on faith and support of my friends and family, and for living out a dream…Lotus Behavioral Health.

Hobbies

I love anything sports related, some will even say I’m quite (too) competitive! I enjoy photography, being outdoors, and shopping!

How do you decompress after a long day?

When I get home, I like to do fun things with my kids (park, play in the yard, bike rides), work out and after the kids go to bed, read or watch a show with my husband.

I love a good rom-com movie or book; I also enjoy thriller books.

I have a black thumb, so if it can keep itself alive, I like it. I enjoy looking at bright colored flowers.

My family and finishing my MSW while growing said family.

I moved away for college when I was 17 and lived in Lincoln for 10 years. My Grandma is my person. I love summertime, sports, food, coffee, holiday’s, travel, good laughs, and Reece’s peanut butter cups.

How do you decompress after a long day?

I try to put the day aside and just be in the moment with my family. A good meal, comfy clothes, and some sports or binge watching are also my go to things. Cleaning too. I enjoy working out when I can as well as reading.

Favorite books or movies?

Big movie fan over here. Some of the best include: The Sandlot, Mrs Doubtfire, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, Harry Potter, etc. I could go on with Disney & Christmas movies but I’ll stop here. I enjoy reading romance and thriller books!

Favorite plant?

Peony’s in bloom and there’s just something special about a Christmas cactus. And if tree’s count, the changing colors during fall take my breath away.

What are you proud of?

I’m proud of those who are brave enough to ask for help. I respect the vulnerability in admitting that. It takes strength and courage to say something and doing something about it! It’s okay to not be okay and you are not alone.

Hobbies

Kansas City Royals baseball games are highlights of mine every summer. I also love to travel and just get away when I can. Music and concerts make me happy. Spending time with my friends doesn’t happen often enough but it’s something I also love to do. This year, I want to learn how to cross-stitch!

I am not much of a reader but enjoy all kinds of movies. I love science fiction and fantasy movies and my favorite movies are weird ones like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, and Being John Malkovich.

Anything colorful that I don’t have to take care of!

What are you proud of?

Returning to school in my early 30’s to complete my undergraduate degree before moving on to my Masters.

I love games and competition so I enjoy video games, darts, beanbags, boardgames, and pickleball.

I like lilacs, hydrangeas, marigolds, and tall, old trees.

I am proud of my beautiful, incredible children and my wonderful, loving husband.

reading, going on a YouTube bender, yoga (love it), and journaling.

I like scary movies (ghosts and werewolves, not a serial killer person), animation, and fantasy.

I don’t have a favorite flower. I love them all—but I have planted roses, lavender, lilac, Narcissus, hyacinth, daisies, and tulips, so those are my favorites!

What are you proud of?

I’m proud I have two Masters degrees and an English paper about a book quoted on the book’s Wikipedia page, and I’m proud I wrote some stories and poems and choreographed a dance.

How do you decompress after a long day?

Recently, I’ve picked up biking on a stationary bike to help decompress but mainly I enjoy arts and crafts, listening to true crime podcasts and vegging on the couch watching a variety of shows. Also, I spend about 9-12 hours a week raiding with my World

My favorite movie changes depending on my mood, but a few of my mainstay favorites would be The Pianist and Life is Beautiful.

My favorite plant would probably have to be the grapevine I have growing along my backyard fence. It seems to have good intentions and I have yet to be offended by it’s existence.

I’m proud of my wife. She’s one of the fiercest advocates I’ve ever met and cares so much for our fellow humans. She causes everyone around her want to be the best versions of themselves, and often helps them get there!

Growing into the person I’ve always wanted to be by trying to always show up as my authentic self.

At Lotus Behavioral Health, we take pride in providing individual, couples, and family therapy services for all ages, free of charge through our Clinical Intern Program. This initiative offers services without cost to the identified individual or family, with our intern students receiving full supervision from a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner. $75.00-$325.00 dependent on service.
